Set in the beautiful Whitaker Park in the Valley of Rossendale the museum displays interesting local history paintings and Victorian natural history collections and a very active contemporary art gallery. Horse + Bamboo Theatre, known as The Boo, have been part of the Valley of Rossendale since 1978. Known for their work with puppets and masks, they produce high quality visual theatre for children and adults in Waterfoot. Music and story-telling are central to their thought-provoking shows, staging a broad range of productions throughout the year along with the annual Puppet Festival.

The Halo

A walk up to the Halo is a great way to commence your visit to the town of Haslingden and on a clear day you can see the city of Manchester and the hills of North Wales. If you are feeling really energetic there’s a network of footpaths and woodland walks in the area. The Shoe Trail can be accessed from the Halo which takes you to the East Lancashire Railway at Rawtenstall (just follow the clay shoes) or the old Kings Highway, a former packhorse trail, will take you to Stonefold Village, Accrington and beyond.
