Bed & Breakfast
Set in the heart of Whitworth Square, and dating back to 1674, the Red Lion has all the charm and character you would expect from such a historic building.
Brand new, fully refurbished bed & breakfast is now available at the Red Lion. All rooms have en suite facilities. Your hosts, Steve and Jane Butterworth, have run pubs in the valley for over 10 years, and the Red Lion, is the 3rd pub they have taken on. Steve and Jane are well respected in the local community, and Steve has recently been awarded the Jeff Ogden Award for his commitment to the community.
The Red Lion is a traditional, local pub, offering a friendly welcome to all. The pub hosts a community quiz night every Wednesday evening starting at 9pm, and new teams are always welcome.
We serve traditional pub grub 7-days a week, as well as hosting a ‘steak’ night every Wednesday, and ‘Thai’ nights every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 12noon to 9pm. Our authentic Thai meals are cooked fresh on the premises. At the Red Lion you will always find a selection of “real ales” on tap, and we are mentioned in the good pub guide and are represented by Camra.
The accommodation comprises of three family rooms, 1 twin room and 1 king room. The family rooms sleep up to 4 people. Cots and babysitting can be provided on request.
Breakfast is served at your convenience so no early get ups unless you require! Breakfast includes cereals, toast and the traditional 'Full English' plus tea coffee and juice. Special dietry needs catered for on request.
